We present the world's first GPS to DCF77 converter unit that will beat the rest!
For all our customers worldwide it is now possible to always have the correct time and date (and more) - no matter where you are. Even the possible distortion of the DCF77 receivers in Europe is over now!! The converter will transform the GPS data into DCF77 format and set the time in the clock automatically.
The converter consists of a high quality GPS unit, a backlit LCD display, an ATmel processor, a high quality pcb and all smd parts. At bootup it shows the number of satellites and indication of bytes from GPS unit. There is also a SAT number menu so you can see if they have an optimal signal. The unit will be connected to the DCF77 input of the clock pcb (J1) and it will work will all our hardware. The software must be version 5.8 or higher. So no new hardware or new software is needed for the nixie clock!!
Now it is totally easy to set the time. Just connect the unit via a 3-wire cable to the DCF77 input of the clock pcb and wait until the LCD display shows the time and date. In a special menue, shown on the unit's display, you can now select the time offset from GPS time. The LCD will show the time and date in real time, this time is sent to nixie clock in DCF77 mode, this takes 1 minute. The date will be shown in the 50th second of a minute until the 55th second.
BUT - there are more features! If you like, connect a temperature sensor to the unit and the temperature will be shown instead of the date. The read out will be -50 to +150 C. This can all be set in the menu of the converter. If the day in the date is 00, the users know it is temperature read out
There are numerous other possibilities of connecting different sensors to the unit and show the results on your nixie clock!
The complete unit is professionally smd assembled and tested (you only have to solder the wires for the clock connector) or if you like you can mount the gps unit away from the converter to get better reception. It includes the GPS receiver as well as the push buttons. The pcb is professionally made as all our other pcbs are.
The unit can also be used as a standalone ultra accurate world wide clock and thermometer!
